ABOUT ME

I'm a full -time, professional artist, who has been painting and drawing for most of my life - I even dabbled in ceramics! It wasn't until I discovered the art of needle felting nearly ten years ago, that I realised I had found my passion. I love working with wool - it's so tactile, so forgiving and so sustainable.

I'm primarily an animal artist, for which wool is an ideal medium, as I feel the organic quality of it really helps me to create pictures and sculptures with personality. One of my owl pictures won the Animal Artists Association's Chairman's Choice Award because of that very quality.

I have recently begun working with faces and my portrait of my beloved Mother is currently being exhibited at the Ferens Gallery in Hull. As I explore the medium, I am finding more and more things capture my imagination, and you will find landscape creeping in - even still life!

Outside of my work, I am the owner and servant of four dogs, married, and mother of two beautiful adult humans.

MY GALLERY AND STUDIO

My tiny gallery and studio is located in the lovely market town of Malton, North Yorkshire, where you will find me working each day, Wednesday to Saturday. I open my doors to anyone who wants to come in and chat, browse or buy between 10am and 4pm.

The only process I don't do here is the wet felting for the backgrounds of my pictures - I don't have any running water and it can be quite a messy exercise!

You will see all my stock on display - as well as prints and cards. I use local businesses for all my framing and printing and my wool is now sourced from a lovely Scottish sheep farmer.

Do come along and have a chat, visitors are very welcome!
